Cost control starts at the fuelling point.
SOLUTION FINDER

Which terminal suits you?

4 questions, zero jargon
  1. 1 · What do you need it for?
  2. 2 · How many drivers/badges?
  3. 3 · How do the data get to the office?
  4. 4 · What should the software do?

Answer the questions – the suggestion builds up here.

TWO FAMILIES

Tried and tested or smart? Both.

Both series are modular – we put together the system that fits you.
SV-SerieRugged, microcontroller-basedNOVOTEC’s proven terminals: capacitive keypad with no mechanical keys (no wear, no dirt, little for vandals to attack), coated stainless-steel housing. For non-legal-for-trade use.
NSC-SerieEmbedded PC with touchscreenNOVOTEC Station Control: 7-inch touchscreen, up to 5 extra inputs right at the pump, unlimited transaction memory. Best of all: updates, analyses and upgrades are done remotely from the office.
Legal-for-trade?Then NSC.According to NOVOTEC, the type approval of the SV/TA range expired on 31.12.2024. For legal-for-trade use NOVOTEC now relies entirely on the NSC series (NSC-Klassik). Existing units may stay in service.

IDENTIFICATION

Whoever fuels gets recognised.

From the classic tag to a camera that reads number plates – NOVOTEC has the right identification for every fleet:

  • RFID transponder or Touchkey as station ID
  • Third-party readers for HITAG 1/2, Legic, Mifare and magnetic cards
  • 2-tag system: vehicle first, then driving licence with transponder
  • Up to 5 extra inputs on the NSC touchscreen, e.g. mileage
  • One log-in, several releases: e.g. diesel and AdBlue without identifying twice (SV series)
  • No tag at all: automatic vehicle recognition by camera, long-range reader or filler neck – details just below

NUMBER-PLATE RECOGNITION

Your number plate is the ID tag.

Tag forgotten, lost, lent out? Soon a non-issue. With the NSC series, a camera at the fuel station reads the number plate as soon as the vehicle pulls up – no transponder on the vehicle, no rummaging in the glovebox.

The camera comes from the world of car parks, stop-and-go and access control systems. According to NOVOTEC it adapts to different reading distances, ensures a clear view in all lighting conditions and can be mounted at various heights and distances. A fast autofocus does the rest.

The goal: automate fuelling as far as possible – and take tampering and typos out of the game while we’re at it.

Pull up. Confirm. Fill up.
HOW IT WORKS

From indicator to nozzle.

Requirements: an NSC-series fuel terminal and a camera at the station. We’ll work out the best spot for it on site.
  1. 01Pull upThe camera reads the number plate while the vehicle rolls up to the station.
  2. 02ConfirmThe NSC touchscreen shows the recognised plate. One tap and you’re done – or, if needed, enter the plate by hand.
  3. 03Add detailsDepending on the settings, the terminal asks for more details such as driver number or mileage – up to 5 extra inputs.
  4. 04Fill upPick the fuelling point, release, go. The transaction lands in FPI.net with vehicle, date, time and quantity.
AUTOMATIC VEHICLE RECOGNITION

Three ways to fuel without a tag.

NOVOTEC offers all three options for the NSC series.
Number-plate recognition cameraCameraNumber-plate recognitionThe newest option: the camera reads the plate as you pull up. No transponder needed on the vehicle.
Long-range reader recognising a truckWindscreen tagDeister long-range readerSelf-adhesive transponder inside the windscreen, slightly raised reader with a range of up to 7 m: the vehicle is recognised before it stops. Thanks to tamper-evident tear-off protection, the tag can’t simply be moved to another vehicle.
Nozzles with Orpak AVI read headFiller neckAVI by Gilbarco/OrpakA compact RFID unit next to the filler neck authorises fuelling as soon as the nozzle is inserted – and fuel only flows into the tank of the authorised vehicle. An on-board computer can transmit the mileage as an option. In use at transit operators and hauliers for almost 20 years.
COMMUNICATION

How do the litres reach the office?

No trench needed? Even better.
NetworkLAN / WLANThe NSC series has a LAN interface as standard; the SV series also speaks Wi-Fi.
Mobile networkLTELTE modem for sites no network cable can reach.
Power gridPowerlineThe data ride along on the existing power line.
2-wireVDSL2New for the NSC series: mini modems connect the terminal to the network over an existing 2-wire line – ideal when replacing an old terminal.
USBData-StickNo connection at all: collect transactions at the terminal with the Data-Stick and transfer them to the PC via USB (SV series, standard on the SV-Start).
Cable & radioRS232 / RS422 & BluetoothDirect cable connection or Bluetooth – still available on the SV series.

FPI.NET IN PRACTICE

Numbers that actually tell you something.

FPI.net turns fuel data into an overview instead of a paper mountain. Small businesses can use FPI.net lokal, a single-workstation version (64-bit PC) – the SV-Start already comes with FPI.net Start, which is compatible with the full version. Plus modules for every version:

  • Control centre: stock levels and terminal status at a glance
  • Drag-and-drop reports – by department, cost centre or group
  • E-mail notification module for errors and status messages
  • Tank content measurement module with probe readings
  • Quota module for prepaid and stored-value tags
  • Remote release module with preset quantity or amount (NSC series)
  • Analyse charging data from OCPP 1.6j wallboxes – no extra terminal
APPLICATIONS

Not just for diesel.

MobileSite & fieldThe mobile SV-M sits on a tanker or mobile storage tank (24 V on-board supply) and sends transactions to the office via GPRS modem, Bluetooth or Data-Stick.
WashingWash baysThe SV series also controls wash bays and tunnels: up to 15 programmes, analysed in FPI.net just like fuel.
Power & gasCharging & gasThe NSC-Basis E release terminal manages up to 4 fuelling or charging points – chargers with OCPP 1.5/1.6j. In a charging park the dialogue guides you through choosing the charger, start, stop and releasing the plug. According to NOVOTEC, the E version also works with natural gas, LPG or e-fuels.
AttendedAirfields & small stationsTSS-PC runs stations without a terminal via touchscreen, remote release unlocks pumps from the counter – and at airfields with NSC it even works via an app. More on that just below.
AIRFIELDS

Straight from the cockpit to the pump.

App release and remote release both require an NSC-series fuel terminal.
aerops app with transaction list on three smartphonesAppRelease via the aerops appPilots unlock the pump right from the aircraft, enter preset values and pay for the fuel in the app. No trip to the tower, the invoice arrives by e-mail. According to NOVOTEC, aerops is used at more than 250 airfields in Europe.
Remote releaseRelease from the counterFor attended airfield stations and customers without their own station tag: release is requested at the terminal and staff unlock the pump in FPI.net – optionally on a 15-inch touchscreen. Quantity or amount can be preset; with a throttle valve, the pump stops spot on.
RegularsWith a station tagAnyone who fuels regularly gets their own station tag and fills up without going via the counter. Billing happens in FPI.net – with FPI.net Exklusiv including customer management, invoicing and a SEPA-compliant file.
NETWORKING

All the data. One place.

no matter how many sites

Fuel terminals at several sites, the mobile unit on the tanker, EV chargers and tank probes all feed one central database. In the office you analyse everything with FPI.net.
