Safety inspections for fuel stations

We find the faults before they find you.

Better us than the inspector.

A fuel station runs every single day – which is exactly why nobody notices when a hose turns brittle, a manhole chamber lets water in or nobody has pressed the emergency stop in years. Our service technicians inspect your public or company fuel station systematically, record everything in a report and fix the faults themselves.

WHAT WE CHECK

From the nozzle to under the lid

We go through your installation point by point – up top where people fill up, and down below where the fuel is stored. We tailor the exact scope to your installation.

  • Dispensers: hoses, nozzles, breakaway couplings and hose retractors
  • Emergency stops: triggered and function-tested
  • Dispenser housings, cable entries and explosion-protected components: visible damage
  • Leak detectors and overfill protection
  • Manhole chambers and road covers: condition, water or fuel in the chamber
  • Drainage and fuelling area: condition and tightness of the surface, channels and gullies, connection to the separator
  • Visual check of the entire tank installation including pipework and fittings
  • Alarm units of separator monitoring systems
  • Signage, fire extinguishers present and accessible
  • Vapour recovery: measured with our own PetroControl VAP test device

HOW THE INSPECTION WORKS

Four steps to a safe fuel station

Fuelling carries on wherever possible
  1. 01Book a dateTell us which installation it is – we agree scope and timing so as few customers as possible end up in front of closed pumps.
  2. 02On-site inspectionOur service technicians check dispensers, safety devices, chambers and the tank installation – with tools and spare parts on board the service vehicle.
  3. 03ReportYou receive a report: what was checked, what's fine and which faults are how urgent. Ideal for your records and for questions from the authorities.
  4. 04Fix the faultsNo handing you on to the next firm: repairs, spare parts, refurbishment or tank inspection all come from one source – us.
WHY IT PAYS OFF

Safe. Covered. Well rested.

OperationOperational safetySpot faults early and you repair on your schedule – not on a Friday night with a closed pump and a queue on the forecourt.
LiabilityDiligence on recordAs the operator, you're responsible for the safety of your installation. A report shows in black and white that you checked.
AuthoritiesRequirements under controlWater protection and air quality rules set requirements for fuel stations. We make sure the equipment is ready when the inspection comes.
ATEX · EXPLOSION PROTECTION DOCUMENT

Petrol vapour doesn't read the rules. We do.

Wherever fuel is handled, an explosive atmosphere can form – at every fuel station. As the operator, you are responsible for assessing and documenting the explosion protection of your installation. That is what explosion protection requirements provide for, e.g. those of SUVA.

The explosion protection document (EXD) brings this assessment together: where hazards can arise, which protective measures apply and who is responsible for what. A document that shows, when it matters, that you've done your homework.

We draw up the explosion protection document for your public fuel station, company station or tank installation – or bring an existing one up to date, for example after a conversion, a dispenser replacement or with new products such as HVO.

HOW YOUR EXD COMES TOGETHER

From the binder in the basement to an up-to-date document

  1. 01Gather the paperworkPlans, existing documents, details of tanks, pipework and dispensers – we start from whatever is there.
  2. 02Site visitWe inspect your installation and compare the paperwork with reality.
  3. 03Write the documentNew or updated – clear and tailored to your installation.
  4. 04HandoverYou receive the explosion protection document and we go through what it means for your operation.

Questions about the safety inspection

No. Official inspections remain the job of the competent bodies. Our inspection makes sure your equipment is in order – and that faults are fixed before someone turns up with a clipboard.
